I'm reminded of something Matthew Brown wrote at Forrester a while back, and I'm paraphrasing, "Think of Web 2.0 as a Trojan Horse for KM." Not sure if that helps you, but it has helped me demonstrate that KM can't be disconnected from enterprise search, ECM, innovation, talent initiatives, ITS, etc. Keep asking the questions.
