These are del.icio.us links for January 4th. My del.icio.us bookmarks are also tweeted although the tweets miss out on additional notes and tags:
- This discussion with Nokia’s Rick Simonson is sort of the story you don’t want to tell and the spin you must – We're all Nokia watchers. It is one of the most interesting strategic battlegrounds on the planet. I still believe the problem is much bigger than Nokia admits publicly. Nokia does well in India as long as there is no 3G. 3G changes everything there. Pricing on 3G also matters. Brazil is different again. Nokia smart phones often shipped on status. Maybe a camera or two. However, when internet, reading and gaming really come into play we'r yet to see the device that will make everyone go WOW.
- .@andyabramson on Tweet2DIal Makes Google Voice Twitter Friendly for Asterisk Users | Yep nerdy not Phweet! – Stroll on over to Nerd Vittles http://nerdvittles.com/?p=659 and you will see that it's not easy. Yet underlying it… is use of Twitter as the signaling mechanism and then applying the free calling model for Google voice. This isn't going to be big time. It is interesting to see yet again that Twitter needs more sophisticated real-time channels to enhance and accelerate the conversation.
- Aircel wants your mobile phone. Why not an unlocked iPhone from the US for their free service deal? – There's about to be an opportunity for an iPhone recycling. The value on these is still high although people would prefer to give them as a $100 donation I think in the US. Had an iPhone 2 years… give it to someone that needs it. Thanks Aircel for making sure the gift will not be wasted. Aircel only promises free talktime for a year…… whatever that means
