While this is a promo I continue to be surprised at the lack of “bridged” content that could be made available over the telephone. The sound will be crap in this example. However, dialing in to a live comedy could be no problem.

“What Scanr does is very simple. It uses the camera on your phone to capture an image, which it then sends to a web site scanning service.” I’ve not tried it although I use the camera all the time to capture flipcharts etc.

Jaxtr launches their talk network. I hope the conversation is better than on SkypeMe. I expect they will have problems similar to other sites that have tried this.

“Some examples might be; Integrated Conference Calling within Highrise, Scheduled Calls, Click to Call Contacts in Highrise, Call-back Task links, just to name a few” – Perfect example of where VoIP could really enable some value added.

…”interruptions”… key point. Think of the “attention economy”: can you really afford to interrupt people? I find myself coming back to David’s blog more and more.

Ken’s write up points out the importance of being channel agnostic when trying to connect people. PCtoPhone and Phone to Phone and any combination is expected today. Good work Iotum! What matters is they can conference.

“Blogs are a lot about conversations. If there’s no conversation, it’s difficult for a potential client to get their head around who you are, what you’re doing and how you think.” Link found via DocSearls

“The fastest growing “religion” “Unaffiliated” – The Top Down Model is losing its flock” I saw this today too in the paper. I wasn’t surprised; then I am in the Unaffiliated group, yet I still see value in religious teachings and stories.

“This book examines the darker side of personal expression and communication online, looking at some of the social costs of what I’m always rambling on about as “persistence, searchability, replicability, and invisible audiences.” Thanks Danah!

I think I want to look this one over chapter by chapter. I may even buy it. Wonder if I can read it easy on an iphone?

An idea that needs work. First up it shouldn’t be in buckets, second, I’d question the value of a framework that doesn’t meet new rules.. eg reduce friction, increase connectivity, create inter dependencies. Still I like Ross for attacking change points.

“what they wanted was a picture from what they called the “magic camera.” With it I was able to instantly hand out prints to people who, lacking household accoutrements like mirrors, had never seen themselves before.” Nice story.
